History

Located between Gorey and Arklow, Castletown was one of the earliest Christian settlements in Ireland. It was founded by St Gorman, possibly the same Gorman for whom Loch Garman (Irish for Wexford), is named. Kilgorman Strand is one of those hidden gems along our eastern coast that is as magical in winter as it is in summer. With wide-open sands dissected by a meandering stream and backed by sandbanks of marram grass, it's a great place to laze away a balmy summer’s day or catch a breath of invigorating air on a breezy December afternoon.
